About EFAC Onitsha Zone

A living fellowship of Anglicans rooted in truth and sent in mission.

Founded globally in 1961, EFAC came to the Diocese on the Niger around 1979 and was officially inaugurated in 1985 at Odakpu, Onitsha — despite early resistance. Today, after a landmark reconciliation in 1990, the Onitsha Zone stands as one of Nigeria’s most vibrant EFAC zones, uniting evangelical Anglicans across 18 subzones in Scripture, prayer, and mission.

Our Foundation

Vision & Aims

01
Vision

Our Vision

Anglican Evangelicals are concerned to seek the renewal of the Church in every dimension of its life — its faith, worship, holiness, fellowship, and mission. EFAC is a movement which, within the increasing pluralism of human society, proclaims the uniqueness and finality of Jesus Christ.

02
The Aims of EFAC

Our Aims

The aims of the fellowship rest on the conviction that a strong biblical witness is essential for the life and health of the Anglican Communion, within the wider context of seeking first God’s Kingdom and the building up of His people.

03
Statement of Faith

Our Faith

As members of the Anglican Communion within the one, holy catholic and apostolic Church, we affirm the faith uniquely revealed in the Holy Scriptures, set forth in the catholic creeds and witnessed to in the historic Anglican formularies. We lay special emphasis on the grace of God — His unmerited mercy — as expressed in the doctrines which follow.
